The Forbidden City, Beijing

I flew Thursday to Beijing from Shenzhen, a three hour flight. The airport in Shenzhen is beautiful, modern, clean..charging stations at every gate. I flew Shenzhen Airlines which was fine and even had a meal for a three hour flight.

After steamy, tropical Shenzhen, Beijing weather was a big contrast, grey, drizzly, 40s. I got to my hotel and decided to walk to the Forbidden City, about 30 minutes away. But the drizzle turned to flat out rain…I carried on though and saw Tiananmen Square (really not too pretty or interesting other than the history we know), then went into the Forbidden City with it’s many buildings and courtyards.
