The USA advanced to the medal rounds in all of the Men’s Cups and in the Women’s 50 & 60 Divisions.

The Maria Bueno Cup team, W50s trounced Ireland 3/0. Their draw is below. They have a bye and play again on Thursday.
The Connolly Cup team, Women’s 55, fell 2/1 to Germany. Vicki Buholz lost 76 64 and Tracy Houk fell 64 in the third at #1 singles. Buholz/Judy Newman swept the doubles point (Tracey Thompson was sick.).
The dominating form of the Alice Marble Cup team (W60) continued against South Africa, where Diane Barker at #1 singles has yet to drop a game. Susan Wright lost a game at #2 singles and Pat Purcell and Leslie Murveit won the doubles point convincingly. They are out to the semis where they will face Germany next.
The men’s Fred Perry Cup team, M50, beat Finland 3/0 and didn’t drop a set. They play Sweden in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
The men’s 55, Austria Cup (seeded #3) also advanced, beating their northern neighbors, Canada convincingly. They take on #6 seeded Great Britain tomorrow.
The Men’s 60 Von Cramm Cup team, after losing on Monday to Mexico, beat Brazil 3/0 with the loss of only one set. Mexico lost to Brazil 2/1 so the USA advanced by virtue of having won a higher percentage of sets in the round robin. In the quarterfinals they will play #5 seeded Great Britain.
