Cheney, Carter, Win Gold in Seattle

Brenda Carter won the 60 indoors over first time finalist Janet Watanabe. Watanabe upset Molly Hahn in straight sets to reach the final. Pat Keleman beat Hahn to place third.

Hahn combined with Mary Delay to win the doubles over  SheilaJohnson/Ellen Goodman in a nail biter, 75 in the third. Ellen and Sheila edged Watanabe/Barbara Hubbard 76 in the third in the semis. Lianne Bryson/Sharon Greene beat Hubbard/Watanabe to place third.

Carter also won the mixed, combining with Hugh Thomson to beat Brent Abel/Bryson handily in the final. Delay/Daub Ahmed took the bronze.

Brian Cheney won the singles, barely getting by Thomson in the final, 76 in the third. Cheney had to go 3 sets to beat Abel in the semis. Abel took the bronze over Terry Ehlers.

Cheney/Dan Bohannon beat Thomson/Kirk in three sets to win the doubles. Neal Newman/Jody Rush took the bronze.
