Bob Duesler, won the 70 singles (over Herm Ahlers) and doubles titles at the men’s hard court nationals in June. He won the doubles (over Kohles/Lancaster) with Jim Nelson, with whom he won a gold slam in 2006. Rudy Hernando, and George Sarantos, won the 65 doubles at the same tournament, upending the top seeds, Carter/Grant in three sets.
