Heide Orth of Germany, and an NSWTA member, won the European indoors in both the 60s and 55s in successive weeks in Austria. She beat Sylvia Bauwens by default in the 60 final, after edging Frances MacLennan in the semis. In the 60s, she recovered from losing the first set 60 to beat Heidi Eisterlehner.
