Intersectionals 2015: Southern Sweeps Singles to Win 55s; Florida Sweeps 65 Singles to Take Gold

Southern Wins 55s

Southern swept the singles behind wins by Diane Barker over Tina Karwasky, Sue Bartlett over Tracey Thompson and Lee King over Colleen Clery Ferrell.

In the 3/4 playoff, NorCal edged Texas 3/2, taking both doubles points to seal the victory.

Florida Wins 65s

Florida beat SoCal 4/1, winning all three singles matches. Kerry Young beat Carol Gay; Carol Clay beat Cathie Anderson and Betty Wachob took out Crys Ren.

The match between Southern and New England has been very tight.

Vicky McEvoy (NE) beat Brenda Carter in a marathon, 76 57 76, but Southern won the other two singles points; Toni Novack beat Molly Hahn 63 63 and Susie Peiffer edged Lee Delfausse 26 75 75.  The match is finished but scores won’t be posted till later due to the length of the matches and the banquet tonight.
