Mexico Saturday Morning

Sherri and I met up with the men’s 50 team for dinner last night, Mike Fedderly from Palm Desert, CA, Egan Adams from Palmetto, Florida, Mike Tammen from Portland, OR and Ross Persons, the captain, from Houston, TX. Renata Marcinkowska (Rock Hill, SC) from the 45s team also joined our group. Mike Tammen as it turns out knows my cousin who lives in Portland (and who plays tennis) quite well…tournament tennis is a small world.

Our fourth teammate, Kerry Young, from the Orlando, Florida area finally arrived late last night. She had an adventure…which ended safely, but her plane was late and she missed the shuttle, so instead of waiting, she took a taxi…which took her to the wrong NH hotel, not the Mexico City but the Santa Fe. She realized the mistake but the taxi had left…but the hotel called her a taxi and she arrived safely, though a bit poorer for the detour.

Another warm and sunny day today in Mexico City…off to practice. The men’s 55 team of Fred Robinson (NC), Chris Bennett (NJ), Tom Smith (GA) and Joe Bouquin (FL) are practicing at the same site and time too. We are lucky to be practicing at the Junior Club. The men’s 50 team has practice at 10 and 4 at a site they have been told is 90 minutes from the hotel (but it may be less, I hope so).

All USA players.
