Dear USTA player,
As you are aware, the ITF Super Seniors World Team Championships were scheduled for Oct. 16-21, 2016 in Antalya, Turkey. As you have been advised on a number of occasions, the USTA has been monitoring the issues in Turkey and the travel warning posted by the U.S. State Department regarding travel to south Turkey. On June 29, 2016, following the events in Istanbul on June 28, 2016, the USTA provided notice to the ITF that the USTA would not be sending a team to the ITF Super Senior World Team Championships in Antalya. We did advise the ITF that should they relocate the event, we would consider the feasibility of supporting a team in a new venue.
On July 1, 2016, we were notified that the ITF has made a decision to change the venue for the 2016 ITF Super Senior World Team and Individual Championships to Umag, Croatia, which hosted the Young Seniors Championships earlier this year. Due to the change of venue and hotel availability, the ITF Super Senior World Team Championships will now be held in Umag, Sept. 12-17, 2016, and the Individual Championships will be held Sept. 18-25, 2016. The captains meeting and opening ceremonies for the Team Championships will take place on Sept. 11, 2016.
As a result of the unique circumstances surrounding the cancelled venue and new venue and dates, as well as the fact that players may have not have applied for team consideration due to the original location of the championships, the USTA has elected to abandon the initial team selections made on June 5, 2016, and open a new team selection process.
Any eligible player wishing to apply for a position on the team traveling to the 2016 ITF Super Senior World Team Championships in Umag will need to apply via the link below and complete the survey application. This process must be followed for all players to be considered for the Super Senior teams, even if you were previously selected to a team.
Applications must be submitted by the end of day, July 13.

Teams will be selected by Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Selections will be posted on the USTA website at Super Senior Teams by July 20, 2016.
