Val Wilder won the 45 Grass Singles and Doubles at the Germantown Cricket Club the last week of August. He edged his doubles partner, Mike Fedderly, in the semis, then ended unseeded Andrew Stoner’s run in the final in straight sets. Fedderly beat Gil Schluerholz to place third. Stoner beat 5th seeded Doug Elly in the round of 32 in a very close three-setter, and beat 4th seeded Schluerholz in the semis in 75 61.
Wilder/Fedderly beat Cushing/Forsythe to win the doubles.
Peter Markes had a great 50s grass, beating the top seed, Mark Vines in the semis 64 16 62 and edging the #2 seed, Ross Persons 60 67 76 in the final to win the gold. Paul Moss beat the #3 seed, Geoff Martinez in three sets to reach the semis.
Booth/Markes, seeded 5th, beat the #3 seeds, Chris Bennett/Martinez in the quarters, the top seeds, Lucci/Shaw and the #7 seeds, House/Walker to win the doubles. House/Walker beat Levine/Persons, the 4th seeds, in the quarters.
