I have been in Mallorca this week training (at the Jofre Porta Academy) near Palma de Mallorca in Spain. I finished my training today, Thursday. Tomorrow I go to Font de sa Cala (where the 2023 World Championships were held for 65-90 Masters divisions).
The draws are quite large (40 players in the 70 women’s singles for example!). It’s the last year that Helge Albrecht is going to be the tournament director. So far there are over 400 players entered just in the 65-90 age divisions (the 30-60 divisions begin just as this one finishes on October 3rd).
The weather, after a hot day on Sunday and thunderstorms on Monday has been great, crisp mornings, warmish (low to mid 70s) in the afternoons and cool evenings and sunny.
Other than tennis and of course visiting some local grocery stores (I’ve already cooked Padron peppers twice!) for everything from peanut butter to peppers to sautéed almonds, I haven’t explored much but have been enjoying the tennis and the nice weather.
I drive across the Island tomorrow to Font de sa Cala, and probably play on Saturday my first match. Stay tuned…
I took a nice evening walk today…

I wish you a wonderful tournament!!
