It was his 8th straight Cat I 80 doubles title. He’s also won two world titles in the past two years, both with Franco. The singles final went the distance, with Nichols winning 61 in the third. One onlooker said he won the event without ever mussing his hair! Powless beat defending champion Chuck DeVoe 61 62 in the semis and Joe Russell in the final 76 75.
