Today was Day 4 of practice in Gandia…longer than the tournament will last! There were again no matches before 11am and only a few matches on the front courts. Vicki and I practiced for about 90 minutes, brushed the court then went to the indoor/outdoor gym. We hit with the tournament Head XT balls today, which are pretty heavy. Vicki’s potential doubles partner came by and they have a plan…play if the tournament will be done by Saturday, otherwise skip it, since they need to be on the road by Saturday afternoon.

We were told that matches begin at 9 am tomorrow with practice from 8-8:45 (but we may try to get there earlier than that) and that the women’s divisions will begin tomorrow. They played the round of 16 in some men’s divisions today, including men’s 70 but not in the women’s divisions for some reason. We were also told the singles will be completed by Friday.

After practice, and working out and stretching, we returned to the apartment for drinks and a snack, then walked down the lovely tree-lined park to the Carrefour which we had visited before, carry on wheeled bag in tow to carry water and drinks. We got more veggies and chicken etc, and walked back, The elevator door had been painted with a sign over the door so we carried the suitcase up four flights of stairs.

After lunch I took a walk along the beach promenade but went the opposite direction from yesterday. It all looked very similar…blue water, sand, no hills, blue skies.
