I played my second round of singles today against Jenny Cerff from South Africa. We had a good match, playing at noon, but I was lucky to get her early in the tournament and won in straight sets.
Before our match began I watched the end of a very good men’s 90 match between Chuck Nelson, USA and Gordon Oates, GBR. Oates won the first set 64, Nelson the second 76 and I watched the match tiebreak which Oates won 13-11, though Nelson had 2 match points. The match started at 9am and finished at 11:45. We caught Chuck later…he had just finished his second match of the day, a doubles match, which he won. There are 5 players in the 90 singles.
After doing some exercises, and a trip to the grocery store (bought that squid/cuttlefish), I watched Susan and her mixed partner Steve (Australia) play Jenny and her mixed partner Andrew (from Scotland), so it was a four continent match, Europe, North America, Africa and Australia.
