The Clay Courts ended today under sunny skies.

Carolyn Nichols edged Sherri Bronson 61 57 75. Bronson forged a 41 lead in the third and had a pair of match points at 54. It was a 3.5 hor battle.

That match finished an hour before the 5/6 playoff in the 40’s. Susan Boyer beat Tiina Smith 75 63 in a 4.5 hour match.

Mary Morgan took the 50’s bronze, her first USTA ball. She beat Elizabeth Froehling 64 61. Sue Sprague finished 5th.

Nichols/Janet Bezmalinovich beat Bronson (who cramped up after her singles match) Melanie Wheatley 62 61 to win the 50 doubles. It was Janet Bez’s first gold ball.

Morgan/Rita Anderson took the doubles Bronze overBohac/Sasser.
