Yesterday was steamy hot…in the mid-90s and very humid (close to Florida but not quite that tough). I trined at the Jofre Porta Academy in the late morning, 90 minutes, water breaks only…

After tennis, I went to Decathalon (think Dicks Sporting Goods but not quite as expensive other than tennis balls), to get a mat for stretching etc, and a few more food items (Padron peppers…yeah!)….and sunscreen. I went to the huge Alcampo store since it was right next to Decathlon. I like in particular that it was an entire aisle devoted to chocolates! The store was full of kids and parents getting back to school items.
I was pretty tired and jet lagged and just did some exercises, figured out the TV, stretched and called it a day.
Today was a bit of a Groundhog Day as far as tennis was concerned but it was cooler and less humid and I was better…still getting used the bounces here though! I decided to go to Aldi again for some berries and salmon…missed a turn and my GPS decided to glitz. I went around in a big circle till I sort of knew where I was, pulled over and reset my phone (which did get the GPS to work), and found Aldi, and after that my lodging.
I try when in a foreign country to stay near the speed limit and my speedometer and Google Maps are not in sync…Maps shows I am going about 5 kph slower than what my speedometer says. And I seem to be the slowest one driving down these narrow one-way streets…apparently most auto manufacturers set the speedometer to show a few miles or kilometers per hour faster than actual speed. Judging by the speeds of other cars here that may be the case. After tennis, lunch, laundry etc I went for an evening walk on the Ruta Sa Cimentera near Marraxti/Sa Cabaneta. It’s an old cement mining road with a few remnants from the mine which closed down in the 1960s, and goes along a valley towards the mountains. There are also a few small farms. It was a nice time of day for a walk, not too warm and the light was pretty.

love your photos and travel adventures!
