USA Goes 6/0 on Day 2 in Bol, Croatia at the ITF Masters World Team Championships

The USA cruised on Day 2 in Bol, Croatia, though a bug of some sort seems to have spread around the competition…tomorrow is the last day of the round robin competition except for the W85 who have only one round robin group (of 5 teams).

W75: USA beat Ireland 3/0, dropping only two games despite being down a player (their #1 was ill); Toni Novack won at #2 singles; Gwenda Ward won at #1 and Novack/Liane Bryson took the doubles point.

W80: USA beat Finland 3/0; Carolann Castell (2) and Betty Wachob (1) won the singles; Andi Polisky/Sue Kimball won the doubles point.

W85: USA beat Australia 3/0: Susanne Clark (2) & Donna Fales won the singles points; Fales/Roz King won the doubles. point.

M75: USA beat Sweden 3/0; Mark Mazo (2) won when his opponent retired after one game; David Fish won in 2 sets; Norm Ashbrooke/Brian Cheney took the doubles point.

M80: USA beat Norway (it was Argentina, not Norway which defaulted out of the competition); David Dollins (2) and Jimmy Parker won the singles points; Dollins/Jody Rush took the doubles point.

M85: USA beat Austria 3/0: Don Mathias (2) and Bob Quall (1) won the singles points and Jerald Hayes/Wilbur Jones won the doubles point.
