Sue Bramlette is blogging for the USA Kitty Godfree Cup team (women’s 65) this week. The ITF Super Senior World Team Championships are being held this week in Umag, Croatia for the men’s and women’s 65, 70, 75 & 80 divisions. The Cups begin Monday September 12 and end on Saturday September 17th, with the ITF World Individual Championships to follow. The USA Kitty Godfree Cup team is the defending champion, having won the event in 2015 in Umag. However, this is a completely different team with no holdovers from the previous year.

Sue’s report from today was brief as she told me that they practiced FIVE hours today! (Guess they think they are playing three out of five sets…but alas, only two out of three full sets).

“We are safely in Umag, Croatia. The trip was smooth for all of us, and the hotel is nice. The weather is quite warm (mid to upper 80s), but there is a nice breeze off the water. Certainly more comfortable than Houston, Texas!!

Today we hit as a team for 3 hours and we will hit again this afternoon. Tomorrow (Sunday) will be another practice day before play begins on Monday.”
