USA Women’s 55 Team Advances in Round Robin Play on Day 2

Most of the USA teams were off today. However the USA Maureen Connolly Cup team trounced Norway 3/0 with the loss of only 3 games in three matches. Tracy Houk and Vicki Buholz won the doubles and Tracey Thompson/Judy Newman took the doubles point. They play the #5 seeded German team tomorrow in their final round robin match. Yesterday Canada 55s lost a tough one to France 2/1 though Erin Boynton (who plays lots of USTA tournaments) won her #1 singles match. Photo from cameraworkusa.com.

The USA women’s 50 team was off today and plays Ireland tomorrow.

The USA women’s 60s team was off today and plays South Africa tomorrow.

The USA men’s 50 team was off today and plays Finland tomorrow. Finland lost today to Canada. The USA beat Canada on Sunday so will hopefully advance!

The USA men’s 60 team was off today except for a doubles match. Ross Persons/Wes Cash won a three set doubles against Mexico to narrow their loss to 2/1. Brazil beat Mexico today in the Von Cramm Cup so the USA still has a chance of winning it’s group if it does well against Brazil, that is if the team beats Brazil.
