All Day Rain in Spain = Washout

Daws etc are here.

It was one of those sit around and watch the courts almost dry kind of days. It was raining when we awoke…so no 8am practice. My 10:30 match was rescheduled first to 1pm (I walked over around 12:30 just to learn of the suspension till 3pm), then to 3pm ( I had walked over at 2:15 and heard people playing…some enterprising 70 year olds had helped to dry the court and so were attempting to play their final). However, just before 3pm, the heavens opened up and the courts were flooded. Suspension of play for the day quickly followed.

Since my opponent Susanne could not play tomorrow…early morning flight back to Germany, I won the final by default unfortunately. And Vicki and Barbora could not play the final tomorrow either since they needed to be back in Germany by Monday and they were driving.

So I went to the gym here and did a good workout, used the shower (the one at our apartment is not great), dropped off my racquets etc at the apartment and took a nice walk on the beach down to the end, then walked back on the boardwalk. Not a bad end to the day (and I updated the website too!)

I walked into the grocery store to buy some cashews…and saw quite a variety of potato chips which seem to be the favorite junk food snack here.
