From Brenda Carter in Umag

Hello all,

Greetings from Umag, Croatia.  It is such a privilege to be a member of the USA Althea Gibson Cup, representing our country in the 2019 International Tennis Federation World Team Championships.  My teammates are Liane Bryson (California), Judy Dixon (Massachusetts) and Toni Novack (Florida).  We just completed our first tie, playing Sweden.  It was a great tie for us, as the Swedish players played well and forced us to dig and play a little better!  Judy and Toni won their singles matches, then Liane and I posted a win in doubles.  All 3 matches were won in straight sets.  Tomorrow we will face Germany — they’ve brought a very strong team!
