Checket Cup Saturday: Windy!

Cathie Hall won her inaugural 85s event over Elaine Mason, using her supior mobility to chase down Mason’s strong shots.

Libby Keenan and Boots Van Nostrand edged top seeded Mary Boswell/Lee Burling 76 76 to win the 75 doubles.

In the upset-riddled 65s, Betty Wachob, the top seed remained on track to win the title. She best Judy Louie today and faces surprise finalist Jovette Levine tomorrow. Levine took out Olga Stark.

Wachob/Wilson and Louie/Delfausse play in the 65 doubles final.

The top 2 seeds eased into the 55 final in singles and doubles.

In the 45s Fran Chandler won the title a 5 th straight time I think, 60 61 over top seeded Vesna McKenna. Jenny Klitch outlasted Susan Love in 3 sets to place 3rd.

Garzon and Riddell will play the 35 singles final tomorrow.
