European Champion

Today was the warmest day of the week, and I logged the most court time. I beat Lyn Mortimer 61 63 in the singles final. The second set was quite tough, lots of long games, with Lyn constantly attacking.

An hour after the singles, Lyn and I played the doubles final against one player who is in the 50 final, and one who lost in the semis today, both good players, but neither served and volleyed. We won 75, 62 and I served out both sets.

Tomorrow I am off to Poertschach, Austria for the Austrian championships, which means an all day train ride.

Canadian Tara’s Beyko won the men’s 40s; Canadians Marc Pepin and JP Cote list in the 50 doubles final.

Klaartje Van Baarle won the 45 singles.
