The Folsom tournament, women’s 35-85 hard courts begain today. Everyone in the 45 singles played, along with several 35, 55 and 65 players.

 

The weather was cloudy, with some afternoon thunderstorms, and pleasantly warm.

 

I didn’t hear of any upsets. The closest match in the 45’s appeared to be Suzanne Siegler’s 64 76 win over Mary Ryniewicz, who was making her first Category I National appearance in several years, though she won the Marin Senior Category II this year.

 

Tomorrow all the seeds play in the 35, 55, and 65’s, and the 75’s begin play. Wednesday the seeds begin play in the 75’s and the 85’s division begins.
