Fundraiser for Rachel Apsey, GB Women’s 45 Team Member (ruptured Achilles during event).

This is from Anne Clark, GBR:

Can you help.
Rachel Apsey was a member of the GB ladies 45’s team which competed in the 2012 ITF Vets World Team Championships in San Diego earlier this year. During the event, Rachel ruptured her Achilles while on court and on arrival back in the UK it was discovered she was suffering from DVT. Fortunately she is recovering on both fronts, but less fortunately the fact she was not able to drive and therefore work for an extended period has had a devastating impact on her. As a self-employed book/small gift seller Rachel’s business requires her to drive around Somerset and Devon each week to display and sell products to potential clients. Despite the best efforts of a family friend who kindly volunteered to work a few days each week Rachel’s business somewhat inevitably folded and there remains a chance she may yet lose her home.
Myself, Jo Louis and Jackie Nesbitt are organising a few fund raising events – I am doing a raffle (difficult to sell tickets to anyone abroad), think I chose the best option(!) and Jo and Jackie are doing a sponsored walk this Saturday. I have attached a leaflet with details including an account we have set up for any contributions.
If you could you pass on to the US 45 team to see if they would like to contribute that would be much appreciated or have any ideas on how we can increase the funds for Rachel.
Many thanks, Anne
