Indoor Practicing

It’s dark indoors, even on a sunny day! Actually, especially on a sunny day. I hit at the Homewood-Flossmoor Racquet Club today indoors with one of the pros first, John, a lefty and then later, with Susan, whose game is made for indoors, flat and hard. I am still adjusting to hard courts from clay but the timing is getting easier each day. The facility is nice. It’s pubic but has excellent facilities, pool, gym, locker rooms and 10 courts painted US Open blue and green. The club and the tennis director, Sylvia Gothard, have won numerous awards over the years. The club hosts many junior events in addition to this national 35/45/55 Indoor championship.

It was warm and muggy, indoors and out today but the weather is changing and should be much cooler the rest of the week, which is nice when playing in an indoor facility which lacks air conditioning.

Tomorrow i have final hits with Susan and Anna Zimmermann and we play doubles on Wednesday.
