Today was the hump day for the Regional Closed; tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday are the last two days of this event. I had a default in singles but Pam and I played doubles so I finally got a match in. Pam played great and we won pretty handily against Shula Feuer and Barbara Squires from the USA. We play Debbie Hobbs and Dee Dolson tomorrow. They had a very close match today, winning it 11-9 in the match tiebreak.

In the 55s, Tami Bass plays Diane Barker in the final tomorrow.

In the 50s, Fran Chandler and Shelly Works play the semis tomorrow. On the bottom half of the draw the #2 seed, MJ Pachl (USA and Canada)  lost to Daniella Esswein (GER) and #4 seeded Anita Lorelli (CAN) lost to Terri Gaskill.

In the men’s 65s, top seeded Michael Beautyman defaulted and #2 seeded Bruce Barrett lost to Geoffrey Moore so there are no seeds remaining.

I play the semis of singles and doubles tomorrow starting at noon.

Here are a few photos from the really excellent player dinner tonight at the BallenIsles Country Club. The food was really excellent and the ambiance was nice with music after dinner and some dancing.
