Palm Beach Gardens Grandes Dames Day 3: Kaus/Boyer into 60s Final

Draws are here (need account (free) to view)

The final of the 60s is set here after both semis went the distance. Top seeded/defending champion Susan Boyer outlasted Shelly Works 46 64 64 in four hours…lots of long games and long points in that one. Christina Kaus (3) upset Erin Boynton (2) in three hours 36 75 64, in a hard hitting match…Kaus, five years Boynton’s junior passed brilliantly and both players ran a lot! Fun match to watch.

The 70s had a day off from singles…tomorrow I play Becky Timmis and Pat Purcell plays Kathy Foulk.

The 50s got underway in earnest, with the round of 16 matches completed. Catherine Morgan upset #4 seeded Amy Templeton, while the remaining seeds, Susan Wright, Tisha Kilburn and Leslie Wargo won.

In doubles, the final is set in the 70s with Purcell/Jan Cochran vs Timmis/Cindy LePrevost.

The 60s doubles has one more round robin match to play as does the 50 doubles. Jenny Klitch and I beat Cecilia Collins/Kathleen Timberlake 3,2 (photo below).

The 30 singles round robin has two more matches to go.
