I left Peru Monday morning to go to Mallorca Spain via Madrid. I got to the airport checked in had breakfast, then boarded the plane on time for my 10:15 flight. And then things were a little weird. I couldn’t quite understand the announcements, but for some reason, we had to take off on another runway and they had to takeoff a lot of cargo. My seat was right above where they were unloading several large containers despite leaving about an hour and a half late though we only arrived about 30 minutes late into Madrid. The flight was a little over 10 hours with a seven hour time change.

I had plenty of time to get my connecting flight. Unfortunately, I realized as I was walking to my next flight that I had left my laptop on the plane. I had time to talk to someone in baggage claim at a different part of the airport, but the plane had already been closed and we had landed a ways away from the airport it had been bussed to the terminal anyway (which is common in Europe) so it was too late to go back and try and pick it up. I made a claim so we’ll see what happens. The only good thing is it’s a four year-old laptop. I don’t normally take it out of my carry-on…

I made my flight to Mallorca, where it’s very warm compared to Lima and Canada close to 100° yesterday!
I’m staying near Bunyola, and today, Wednesday will start playing tennis again after a 10 day break.

Of course, I went to the grocery store yesterday to an Aldi, where it was good to pick up more vegetables, fresh bread, fruit, and delicious nuts. There was a huge display of pistachios in a bin in the front of the store too. I was pretty sleep deprived so I didn’t take any photos there!
