We will not play before Tuesday. The tournament starts tomorrow and only men are on the schedule for Sunday (and the time changes here tomorrow).
Vicki had a tough night…a second one because her elbow, which she’d cut against a car a week ago flared up and “Dr Google” scared her. So I googled how to get an antibiotic in Spain, found a website (searched to make sure it was good), and set up a 1pm video appointment to see the doctor. I filled out all of her “paperwork” online. I also found a pharmacy which was open late on a Saturday.

We hit for a little over an hour, cleaned the court and logged into the appointment which was just after 1pm. He looked at her elbow, had her move it some, asked a few questions and prescribed the antibiotic, which arrived via email. The court was still open so we decided to hit longer and Vicki was playing lights out.
I wanted to do my workout after the tennis, as there is a small indoor outdoor gym at the club. I got in my workout for 30 minutes or so while Vicki did her yoga and foam rolling, then we returned to the apartment. After a late light lunch, we we headed off to the pharmacy. I found my new glasses I thought I’d lost finally around 11:30pm (in their case in my purse….I have to stop being organized, I blame jet lag). Vicki really didn’t need me on the trip as it ended up and got her antibiotics and some antibiotic cream…she was very happy. It was 6:30 and the Ducal Palace of Gandia closes at 8pm so we took the bus (very crowded on Saturdays) to the central area near the train station. The palace exterior is pretty modest but there is one hallway of rooms which is breathtaking, each room opens to another and they are lavishly decorated. It is a mixture of Gothic and Baroque styles (the Golden Gallery is Baroque) dating from the 1300s when it was the residence of the Royal Dukes of Gandia and then from 1485 the Borja family (including Lucrezia). The family died out in the mid 18th century, the palace was a place of disrepair till purchased by the Society of Jesuits in the late 1800s to restore and convert to to a school. It’s a museum now. After leaving the palace, we wandered into the church lining the main plaza, then bussed back to our apartment…(and the bus was JAMMED), but we made it on and off without incident.
