The weather in San Diego this time of year is…pretty much perfect normally.
1: San Diego Open, ATP 500 September 19-25. It is being played at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego (near the airport and Sea World). Entries include Dan Evans, Jenson Brooksby, San Diegan Brandon Nakashima, wild card Brandon Holt (Tracy Austin’s son who upset Taylor Fritz first round at the US Open) and more. 2: ITF Women’s 80K, October 3-9 will take place at the Ranch Santa Fe Tennis Club in Rancho Santa Fe, CA (just east of Del Mar, about a half hour north of downtown San Diego). This cozy tennis club just hosted an ITF M/W 10K in June. The first three (updated) days of the event are free to attend. There will be women in the top 50-100 entered.
3: San Diego Open, WTA 500, October 10-16, also at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego. This event has a star studded entry already, including world #2 Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins Coco Gauff Petra Kivitova and Madison Keys.
