USA Marble Cup team played Australia on a blustery day in La Baule. Sand was flying everywhere..it was ugly, gusts up to 30 mph. The USA won 3/0 behind singles play by Carolyn Nichols at #2, Tina Karwasy at #1 and Wendy McColskey/Sherri Bronson in doubles.

The USA Bueno (50) won 3/0 vs Switzerland (see Tracy Houk’s blog)

The men’s 50/60 teams won; the 50s won easily but the 60s struggled as they lost the #2 singles point, then Bill Ashley, making his Cup debut at #1 singles struggled early and then won while Tom Smith/Paul Wulf won the doubles.

The women’s 55 beat Sweden 3/0.
