Notes: King won the 80 Hard Court doubles in California then flew to Lexington, KY, 2/3 of the way across the country from San Diego (and no direct flights) to win the 85 singles and doubles there. Susan Wright and Pat Purcell swapped outcomes with Wright winning the 65 singles final and Purcell/Carolyn Lane winning the doubles over Wright/Anne Frautschi. Wright is half way to a singles “gold slam”.
Judy Dixon beat last year’s champion, Toni Novak in the final of the singles. And Liane Bryson is half way to a 75 doubles “gold slam”.
Julie Thu added to her 45 Clay singles and doubles finals with wins in Lexington. She’s half way to a “gold slam” in both.
