Here is a very nice interview with Betty Cookson: https://ninetyoverninety.com/interviews/elizabeth-betty-mcgee-cookson/
Here is her obituary. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/sfgate/name/elizabeth-cookson-obituary?id=37140432
Betty was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, legendary USTA volunteer, fantastic doubles player, winning numerous gold balls (a few with Rita Price…both were looking for doubles partners in the 90+ division and I put them in contact with each other…the rest was history of a gold ball variety). I remember Betty from USTA NorCal tournaments and as a national volunteer. She was still driving into her late 90s.
