Today was the last day before I play my first match at Houston. Susan Wright and I practiced for an hour early, practiced serving with Vicki Buholz, then I did some exercises (outside…we are banned from working out in the gym this year, today anyway, but there were some dumbbells and a nice artificial grass area so it was pretty pleasant).
Update on the Tennis Express $25 gift card: per Susan Wright, no minimum purchase amount is needed to utilize this card (I am still waiting to receive mine via email but that’s another story!).
After working out I had lunch (soup, salad and sandwich fixings, and some cookies and brownies) and left…to organize the next steps regarding my stolen tires (police report, filing a claim with my credit card company etc), and to work on some captain things regarding the ITF World Team Championships which start in just over a week.
There are a few foreign players here this year, including Simone Vasconcellas and Monica Yanagi, from Brazil, though Simone is staying in Florida much if not all of the year.
I play tomorrow at 10:30, Susan at 9, so we are warming up at 8.
There’s not much else to report…it was a tennis/paperwork sort of day.
