It was a gorgeous day in Feld am See today, a clear blue sky, green hills, clear lake water shimmering under the sun…an Austrian Tourism dream.
I played Sylvia Reigl for the second time in two weeks, this time outdoors and won to advance to the final against Betty Michel of France. Betty is a very tough player, hopefully we will have a good match tomorrow.

Vicki is already in the singles final against Magda Gual Leo of Spain. Vicki and I won our doubles 62 60 in wicked sunny conditions at 4pm. It was a weird match, but Vicki as usual was the star and we advanced to the final against MJ Pachl and Catherine Morgan of the USA. They had a touch and go match, winning 11-9 in the match tiebreaker!
I talked to Jana Sedlackova for a while. She asked where I lived in the USA and she asked if I knew a player who lived there and was a psychologist…turns out I see him at the courts several days a week and have played singles and doubles with him…tennis is such a small and insular world.

Tomorrow we play the singles and doubles finals starting around noon.
Just wonderful! And such beautiful photos! What a good and still challenging life!
I did say hi to Heike from you yesterday. It brought a big smile to her face.
I asked Patricia Faulkner who runs the 85s National Clay Court if she knew Bobby Bryan. He was from Australia as was she, and he played at Miss. State in the 1960s and lived here in Miss. She said she had played mixed doubles with him when they were teens. State was No. 3 in the US with Bobby playing number one, and my good friend and hitting partner Tito Echiburu playing number three.
Small world!
