Today I finally got to play my second match. I played Eugenia Carrasco of Spain and won pretty handily and played fine. Our early warm up lasted longer than my match though (to be fair we warmed up for an hour).
Vicki played Marie-Pierre Schneider of France, the #3 seed and won 61 61. Then she and Barbora Nowak won the doubles semis 61 61.
I ran into Felix Riba (M70 champion) who is on the masters advisory board with me and a very good player. His wife was playing Vicki and Barbora (her third tournament match ever!).
I ran into Christina (from Alicante but who lived in San Diego for over 20 years) and we got a photo together.
We had a drink with Barbora and her husband Lars then I stretched for a while, took a shower at the club and returned to our apartment.
So far the rain has held off, fingers crossed it does the same tomorrow!
