Draws are here.

Live streaming information is here.

Women’s 65: We beat Portugal 3/0 behind singles play of myself at #2 and Susan Wright at #1; Carolyn Lane/Anne Frautschi won the doubles. The notable moments from today: 1: I outaced Susan 3 to 1 including back to back aces (Ok, my opponent was not nearly as mobile as Susan’s but still…noteworthy) 2: The captain of the Portuguese team absolutely loved the USTA player to player gift (a stuffed eagle in a USTA t-shirt) and took about 10. photos of it sitting on the net post and told us she had many of these, a collection, at home. 3: Anne Frautschi got some significant air jumping for an overhead (and made the shot).

Women’s 70: USA beat Finland 3/0 behind the singles play of Tina Karwasky at #2, Una Davis at #1 and Betsy Kuhle/Jan Cochran in doubles. They advance to the semis on Wednesday

Women’s 75 beat Ireland 3/0 to advance to the semis on Wednesday.

The women’s 80s fell 3/0 to Great Britain. Carolann Castell lost in a match tiebreak; Britain won the doubles (Polisky & Weinstock) and #1 singles (over Hillebreand)…convincingly.

The women’s 85s have not yet played.

The men’s 65s beat Switzerland 3/0; Chuck Kuhle won a thriller at #2 singles, rallying from a break down in the third to force a tiebreak which he won 71. Ross Hessler won in straights at #1 singles and Eric Lehto/Richard Best (making his Cup debut) won the doubles also in straight sets to complete the sweep.

The men’s 70s had a bye

The men’s 75 beat Australia 3/0 without dropping a set. Brian Cheney played #2, Al Yearwood played #1 and Cheney/Brant Bailey won the doubles. They have one more round robin match to play.

The men’s 80s won 3/0 with the loss of just a handful of games against Sweden; Jody Rush played #2, Jimmy Parker played #1 and Dean Corley/Fred Drilling won the doubles. They won their round robin group.

The men’s 85 beat Great Britain 3/0; Singles players were Don Mathias (2) and Bob Quall (1); doubles was won by Willie Wolff and Jerald Hayes.

After playing and going to the gym (Liane was getting massage instead of juggling this afternoon), I walked to the Mediterranean Sea and waded in for a while…the water is about 19 degrees Celsius…about 66 degrees Fahrenheit, not too cold, and felt nice but the bottom was very rocky.
