Lost my match today to a pretty good player…an American who plays for So Africa internationally. She was consistent and fast…hopefully the backdraw will go better. On the plus side, I’m still in La Jolla and it’s a beautiful sunny day! There weren’t any other upsets in singles. There are going to be some good doubles matches this afternoon now…I think Dadian/Meioli and Lyons/Shapiro, aka the battle of the sisters should be a good one, the latter team won 76 76 for the bronze last year.

There are some really good teams in the mixed and father/son too and a huge men’s 40 draw. Michael Chang is playing father/son with his dad and Jeff Tarango is playing mixed with Patricia Tarabini, and Roz Niedeffer is playing singles and doubles (with Gretchen Magers).

This year we all received nice sweatshirts as the tournament gift.
