Nuremberg Day Two and a Pre-tournament Practice

Today I didn’t do quite as much touring in Nuremberg, but I did take the tram out to the Documentation Center, which has a lot of information about the rise of Hitler & the Third Reich. Right now they’re undergoing construction and it was just a one room exhibition.

It was interesting, chilling, and good to have this exhibit to hopefully prevent anything like this from happening somewhere else in the world.

Hitler had a very good communication system, and media presence long before social media went online.

I would’ve wandered a bit more around the grounds, but it started to rain so I caught the train back to the main train station.

After I returned to the main train station, I walked along the outer wall to the old city, and went to Aldi Sud to pick up some things for lunch. I also walked right the Nuremberg Opera House.

Around 4:30 I was picked up at my hotel by my German teammates, and we went out to the hotel where we’re all staying, and quickly changed to hit some tennis balls out at the venue, after which we had dinner at the hotel. Only Carole DeBruin is missing from the photo as she was still driving from the Netherlands.

Tomorrow we play our first match at 10 o’clock, but we don’t know who we play yet because the draw is only done at 9 o’clock tomorrow.
