I was lucky enough to practice today with most of the USA Women’s 60s team at the gorgeous Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens (venue for the Women’s 65s Cups starting on Sunday).
Last night I picked up captain Jenny Rens (Keller) and Christina Kaus who flew in from San Diego, and transported them to the home of Jenny Klitch, a third member of the team, from Palm Beach Gardens (of course stopping along the way at a grocery store for supplies. Who knew that Publix sold 1/2 gallons of pickle juice for $5?) We had a lovely dinner then (thanks to Jenny’s husband Brad) and an altogether fun evening.
Today I met up with Jenny, Captain Jenny & Christina at Mirasol for a bit over two hours. It’s pretty warm and muggy here, but I think I’m finally acclimated. Make sure to drink lots of water (and you know where to find pickle juice now). We ran into Michelle Oldham (corrected!) of GBR (who is not old enough for the Cups here, being in her 50s…Jenny Klitch was pretty relieved about that!) and Gill Brooks who is on the GBR 65s team.
We had lunch after, I did a quick stop at Fresh Market. and some of my houseguests arrive this afternoon (Susan Wright, Anne Frautschi and Jenny Cerff (from RSA).
Will they be live streaming the matches loke they have done in Europe
Sorry, yes only on the center court at each venue. The men’s 65s are on a streaming court at Palm Beach Gardens tomorrow and the women’s 65s are on a streaming court at Mirasol country club. I’m not sure yet whether or not the women’s 60s on the streaming court. The last post I wrote from May 14 has the links
