San Isidro, Buenos Aires Tournament

I finally played singles today and it was a tough match, though I won 61 62 it took nearly 2 hours, she was really steady and ran well….and it’s red clay…hard to put the ball away except by dropshotting I think. It could have been closer, she was up game point in a lot of games I won. She was cramping though by the end nad it was warm but not hot. It wasn’t so windy today either. Here’s a link to the 50 singles draw.

Vesna and I won our doubles yesterday, so we are in the semis of singles and doubles tomorrow. Here’s a link to the 40 doubles draw.

Vesna plays the defending champion and top seed, Vasconcellas, tomorrow. She’s a very good player but has a calf injury, but is good enough to control the court so far even without 100% movement. She also has a good serve so starts the points out well. Vesna is playing well and should have a great match tomorrow.  Here’s a link to the 40s singles draw.

I’ll take some photos tomorrow or more likely on Saturday of the Club Nautico San Isidro…it’s a golf, yacht and tennis club and is on the Rio de la Plata, the widest river in the world. It goes between Argentina and Uruguay. It also looks very choppy this time of year (don’t go boating on it if you get seasick…means I won’t be sailing on it). To see photos, click here.

After not playing much the first 3 days, only one doubles match, they now have me scheduled for noon and three tomorrow…after saying it would be a ten am match. The scheduling is interesting here.
