Susan Love won the 45 indoor singles title this year but it wasn’t easy. She had to go 3 sets in the quarters over Jeanne Hulsen, in the semis over Kathy Vick and in the final over Mariana Hollman to win the indoors.
Tina Karwasky, in contrast, didn’t lose a set en route to the 55 indoor title, but Martha Downing pushed her in the first set hard before succoming to Tina’s all court pressure 75 62. Mary Ginnard took the bronze with a 64 62 win over last year’s champion, Kathy Barnes. Christy Schaeffer cruised through the back draw after losing to Karwasky, beating last year’s finalist, Susie Peiffer 60 61 to finish 5th. She also finished 5th with Karen O’Sullivan in the 45 doubles.
