USA Beats the Rain in Christchurch, and Opponents

BRRRRR! That’s the weather report for today…breezy, low 50s, cloudy and some rain.
 
The men’s and women’s 70s and men’s 75s swept their singles at Hagley Park.
 
The men’s 60s dropped only a game winning at Wilding on the hard courts.
 
The men’s 80s beat Japan in a rain delayed match. Tony Franco at #2 singles was 2 points from the match when rain begain falling, leading 61 53 30-0. He quickly completed the match when play resumed and Graydon Nichols won at #1 singles and Bill Tully/Roald Flater dropped a single game only in the doubles.
 
The women’s 75s also played Japan. Lucille Kyvallos played #2 singles followed by Suzanne Ryerson at #1 and Mary Boswell/Louise Russ completed the sweep by winning the doubles.
 
Both the Britannia and Godfree Cups won 3-0 in Ashburton. The USA has yet to lose a match in the round robin
