The match would come down to the doubles and USA’s Tietz and Dorothy Matthiessen won the doubles 64 61 to advance the team to the final round robin match against Great Britain on Saturday.
The USA Hart Cup team suffered another 2/1 loss, this time dropping the two singles before winning the doubles over the top two Aussies, Margaret Robinson and Peggy Hoystead in a match tiebreak 10-8. Margaret Canby played the doubles with Mary Ann Plante and Canby said she finished the match with an overhead winner!
