USA Seniors Teams Sweep On Day 2 of World Team Championships

The USA Senior Teams swept for the second straight day.

The women’s 50s had a close match with Netherlands other than Julie Cass’s win at #2 singles (60 60)…Debbie (Spence) Nasim lost a long 3-setter at #1 but Cass/Nasim took the doubles point in straight sets.

The women’s 55 team crushed Ireland. Renee Saheim made her Cup singles debut and it was a perfect one, she didn’t drop a game at #2; Jenny Klitch only dropped a game at #1 singles and Judy Newman/Shelly Works won 2,0.

The women’s 60 were nearly as dominant, dropping four games in their three matches. Fran Chandler (#2); Vicki Buholz (#1) and Mary Dailey/Gayle Prejean (doubles) was the lineup.

The men’s 50s team also dropped only four games in beating India. Dana Gill won 1,0 at #2; Eoin Collins won 0,0 at #1 and Willie Dann/Mike Noel took the doubles point 0,3.

The men’s 55 team beat Argentina 3/0. Jeff Chambers won 2,4; Oren Motevassel won 2,1 at #1and Art Hernandez/Andy Stoner won 2,6.

The UA men’s 60s team bested Mexico 2/1; John Saviano beat Ruiz 2,0; Bill oss beat Garcia Villalobos 62 in the third; Stu Saiki/Mike Tammen beat Becker/Riefkohl 3,1
