King Van Nostrand will be looking to add two gold medals to his team gold when he goes for his 11th world singles title tomorrow. Seeded a lowly 8th, he’s barely lost games en route to the final. 

Jody Rush/Les Buck have reached the men’s 70 doubles final in Umag. Buck was stopped in the singles semis as was defending champion Dick Johnson. Canadian Ken Dahl has reached the singles final.

Brenda Carter took out Heide Orth and Nicole Hesse before falling today to defending champion Gail Benedetti in the women’s 70s. However she has reached the mixed 70s final with Jerry Thomas, USA and the women’s doubles final with Sue Kimball USA. They took out the top seeds today in an exciting match against Carol Campling/Frances Maclennan 10-8 in the match tiebreak!

Sheila Weinstock reached the semis of the 75 singles and doubles but her road ended there.

Burnett Herrick, last year’s world champion in women’s singles & doubles had two bad draws, having to play the 2014 women’s 75 world champion, Canadian Inge Weber first round in each. Inge is in the singles final but Burnett and Judy Smith are in the doubles final. 

Canadian Rosie Asch is in the W85 singles and mixed finals, which she won last year. Her mixed final is the legendary Lorne Main (a newlywed.. his bride, Adria Avis is in the 65 singles/doubles finals).
