How does one qualify for the World Championships
For the individuals there is no qualification procedure…just obtain an ipin which is free and enter. ITF tennis.com/ipin. The teams are selected by the national organization. In the USA there is a committee which selects teams based on head to head play in USTA and ITF tournaments. Players must apply to a team in order to be eligible for selection. Each country has different selection procedures.
Hi, how do you apply in the USA? Where would one find the application form and what are the deadlines för 2024 Team World?
The information is all over the home page, seniortennisblog.com. The ITF has not announced dates for 2024 yet, or venues as far as I know. I will send out posts once the dates become known. The applications for the 65-85 group open April 3 for 2023. The 55/65 closed at the beginning of March. Here is a link to the home page on USTA.com: https://www.usta.com/en/home/play/adult-tennis/programs/national/senior-international-competition.html
Hi Carolyn. What is tourney I’d for men in La Jolla this week? Can’t find it. Thanks, vahl Jackson
Normally I only cover the Level 1-3,but here is the link to the Level 5 at the Beach Club: https://playtennis.usta.com/Competitions/LJBTC/Tournaments/Overview/8856b8ee-378c-4bfd-8cc0-48b6ac598478
Are the Worlds like the US National Tournaments – do they have a full feed-in consolation?
No, for singles only there is first match losers consolation ( sign up only). But your entry fee covers entry into singles/
Doubles/ mixed. Normally if you sign up for all 3 you can find partners.
When will the level 1 national tournaments be out?
I asked USTA, received no response
i live in hawaii can i still participate
For individuals anyone can play pretty much if the correct age. Must have an ipin (free, ITF tennis.com/ipin). For USA teams, must be (with limited exceptions) a USA citizen, and USTA member and have good tournament results (committee selects teams). Also must apply to be considered for a team.
I am turning 60 in April and have put my application in to play for the 60 yr old division…
Good luck…I have nothing to do with team selection but just help to get the word out as to when to apply!
