It was a long day on the courts Friday…Vicki and I warmed up for just short of an hour at 7:45…it was a beautiful morning so I took some photos of the glass-like lake.

We played our singles at 12 and started on time, Vicki against Magda Gual Leo of Spain, and I against Betty Michel of France. We both had tough matches. Vicki won 75 63 against Magda (who played #1 on the Spanish 60 Cup team this year in Florida. Magda has an excellent forehand which she can hit with various height and spin, and a solid backhand…the match looked like a battle, but I only saw a couple of points (they were playing next to us and on changeovers I could see them playing), as I had my own battle to fight. Betty played #1 on the French 65s Cup team…our match finished just after Vicki’s and was a 62 64 match which lasted over two hours…lots of long points, lots of scrambling by me and some by Betty…we used a lot of the court!

We also won the 55 doubles over Catherine Morgan/MJ Pachl in an all-American final.

There was no prize money here but we all received nice embroidered towels (Winner for us), and some grips and string. It was a fun week…many thanks to the organization team which was professional and friendly as always, to Vicki for all the great practice and tips and of. course for playing doubles with me, and Volkl for the great racquets, bag etc!
