There was a 100% chance of rain today and for once the weather forecasters were 100% accurate…it rained most of the morning (1/0 Mother Nature). However, the rain abated in the afternoon and the courts were dry by 3pm at all venues and play began (1/1 Mother Nature vs ITF). I went around to the various venues…to Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center (mostly because I forgot my water bottle there yesterday…but found it right where I had left it); to Mirasol because I was hanging out with the women’s 60s…there we went to the gym after I learned that the women’s 70s would not play today (we only had 5 days of matches scheduled, so that made sense); then to BallenIsles where the 60s were playing to drop off Christina Kaus after I finished warming her up for her doubles), then back to Mirasol where I had left my phone, then finally home, as it began sprinkling. The sprinkles turned into a deluge and play was abandoned for the day (2/1 Mother Nature vs ITF, final score for today). We also had the players dinner tonight while it was pouring down rain again.

Two matches finished today: Men’s 70s and Women’s 65s.
The Women’s 65s had good luck (ironically against Ireland) on their side: they were able to play #1 and #2 singles simultaneously and then won their doubles, dropping just 2 games all day.

The two games the Women’s 65s dropped were two more than the Men’s 70s dropped against US Virgin Islands (and there was a golden set along the way I heard).
The Men’s 65s and Women’s 70s had the day off, the men because it was a bye day and the women because we had a day off for all teams scheduled for Wednesday already.
The Men’s 60s started play vs Mexico on center court at BallenIsles CC, and were up a set and 1/0 before the rain started…so they will commence again at 8am tomorrow (assuming optimistically that the rain will stop soon).

The Women’s 60s began vs Canada on court 2 at BallenIsles. Vicki Buholz won 62 60 at #2 singles. Jenny Klitch began her match at #1 singles and was up 3/0 when the rain ended play for the day…she will restart her match at 8am tomorrow.
The player dinner for the Men’s and Women’s 65/70s, who are playing at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center & Mirasol Country Club, (a separate event from the one held at BallenIsles) was held tonight at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center.
