Jennifer Dawson took out last year’s bronze medalist, Kim Trang Nguyen in a flawless performance, winning 60 60 to advance to the final of the 40 hard courts for a second straight year. Dina McBride from Valencia upset defending champion Gretchen Magers in a “closer than the score would indicate” match, 64 61. McBride is a teaching pro at the Paseo Club in Valencia, just north of the San Fernando Valley of California. She is married and the mother of three children ages 6-11.
